Kids are out of control with ADD\/ADHD or completely detached with Autism or Aspergers.\u00a0 What is the common denominator, in many cases SCREEN TIME.<\/p>\n

Screen time gives parents a break, but what is it doing to the brains of children... and what has it done \/ is it doing to the brains of millennials and older generations? The reality is that the effects of social media are INTENDED and DELIBERATE as stated by Sean Parker, <\/strong>cofounder of Napster and the first President of Facebook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Informational Insights: Social Media is Turning Children into Junkies<\/h2>\n

Sean Parker, who played a pivotal role in turning Facebook into a money-minting juggernaut, admits that he is now \u201csomething of a conscientious objector\u201d to the social networking giant.<\/p>\n

Facebook \u201cliterally changes your relationship with society, with each other,\u201d Parker\u00a0told Axios in a Wednesday interview. \u201cGod only knows what it\u2019s doing to our children\u2019s brains.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old tech tycoon \u2014 whose hardball exploits as Facebook\u2019s first president were depicted in Aaron Sorkin\u2019s 2010 Hollywood flick \u201cThe Social Network\u201d \u2014 said Facebook is designed to exploit \u201ca vulnerability in human psychology\u201d to get its users addicted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe inventors, creators \u2014 it\u2019s me, it\u2019s Mark [Zuckerberg], it\u2019s Kevin Systrom on Instagram, it\u2019s all of these people \u2014 understood this consciously,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd we did it anyway.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Parker, who is now founder and chair of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, explained that Facebook uses likes and shares to create a \u201csocial-validation feedback loop\u201d that keeps users coming back.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to sort of give you a little dopamine hit every once in a while, because someone liked or commented on a photo or a post or whatever,\u201d Parker said. \u201cAnd that\u2019s going to get you to contribute more content, and that\u2019s going to get you \u2026 more likes and comments.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parker said he never anticipated the consequences of what would happen when Facebook grew to have 2 billion monthly users.<\/p>\n

In its first few years, Parker said, people would tell him they didn\u2019t use social media, and he would assure them that they would join the fold sooner or later.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thought process that went into building these applications, Facebook being the first of them, \u2026 was all about: \u2018How do we consume as much of your time and conscious attention as possible?\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

As human beings<\/em> can we afford to turn a blind eye to the realities of what is happening in our world today. As technology is used to manipulate us, rather than empower us, automation becomes standard and our children are disappearing into the fantasy and illusions deliberately created to distract and control our perceptions, attitudes, thinking, feeling and behaviors. Are we going to continue to stand idly by, numb and powerless, OR WILL WE UNITE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM\u00a0\u2013 NOW?!\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
