There needs to be a core team that supports the change within the addicts life: business, family, social, spiritual and play.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Addiction is a result of both nature and nurture, genetics and environment. The biological functions can often be redirected easily, when the addict is within a functional environment.<\/strong> If the addict remains (or returns after treatment) to a dysfunctional environment, they will revert to their old was of controlling and managing the dysfunction, in order to survive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Many people in addiction resist change as they fear &#8220;who will be there when I change?&#8221; This is why the PWI Recovery approach builds a core team around the recovering person before they enter the process<\/strong><em>&#8230; to invite them in, and sustain, maintain and grow the culture from all perspectives, so there is no where the recovering person wants or needs to hide.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Intervention<\/strong> is a process of recognizing the true cost of a way of living:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Socially<\/strong> \u2013 What others think about you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Spiritually<\/strong> \u2013 What you think God thinks about you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Personally<\/strong> \u2013 What you think about your self-esteem.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Economically<\/strong> \u2013 What you think about your ability to provide for yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Recovery<\/strong> is based on four key principles of living life:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Honesty \u2013 <\/strong>Communicating with everybody in a way that includes ALL pertinent information and leaves nothing out.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Selflessness<\/strong> \u2013 So you can know who others are and recognize how you can be of service and help them.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purity and Openness of Your Intentions<\/strong> \u2013 Communicating humility of <em>who you are<\/em> and <em>who you are not.<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li><em>People can trust you<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>People can depend on you<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>People will not expect more of you than you can deliver<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reality\/Community<\/strong> based on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Attention<\/strong> \u2013 Including <em>ALL the facts<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Respect<\/strong> \u2013 Examination of <em>ALL contempt before examination<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Appreciation<\/strong> \u2013 Discovering <em>intrinsic value in ALL elements for ALL Stakeholders<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Aftercare<\/strong> that is integrated into all aspects of life is the key to long-term sobriety:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Family<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Friends<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Intimate Relationships<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Employment and Social Team Projects<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Putting The Plan Into Action<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Recovery is a Serious Process and Requires a Real Commitment, from ALL Stakeholders.<br \/>\nAre You Ready for Recovery?<\/h3>\n<p>Although it is the sole responsibility of the recovering individual (Recovery Buddy Participant) to decide and direct their own life, it is the responsibility of the individual to <strong>choose and select the community<\/strong> (environment) in which they will live. This environment needs real consideration as it will define the greatest influence on long-term sobriety, both physical and emotional, i.e. to create their support team community.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>We Can All Acknowledge That<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Change is Hard and You Can\u2019t Do It Alone &#8211;<\/em><br \/>\n<em> 90% of People Won\u2019t Change.<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">How Does It Work?<\/h3>\n<p>Once the Intervention &#8211; Treatment &#8211; Aftercare Team (Recovery Buddy Team) has been established and defined, and the recovering addict has selected and joined the team, they are effectively stepping out of intervention and into recovery.<\/p>\n<p>In most cases, the Recovery\/Treatment Process requires a Retreat for the whole Recovery Buddy Team.<\/p>\n<p>In many cases there is an allocated time between the Intervention and Recovery Retreat (a qualification period), in which a routine is designed and maintained in order for the recovering alcoholic addict to prove ability to participation and willingness to apply. This routine includes: assignments are allocated in a sequential order, as well as other activities toward maintaining physical and developing emotional sobriety.<\/p>\n<p>Each assignment is monitored daily by a Certified Facilitator as a Buddy Coach. All sessions are recorded and available for viewing by the Recovery Buddy Team to watch and understand the process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prior to (and following) the Retreat, the Recovery Buddy Team Member&#8217;s Schedule will include: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Daily Group Morning Meeting with Recovery Buddy Participant<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Scheduled Touch Bases<\/strong> with Recovery Buddy Participant Throughout the Day<\/li>\n<li><strong>Attend Meetings Several Time a Week<\/strong> to meet and evaluate the recovery candidate for:\n<ul>\n<li>Willingness to Participate<\/li>\n<li>Ability to Apply New Content<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Prior to the Retreat, the Recovery Buddy Participant will<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Define and Share Daily Activities<\/li>\n<li>Follow Through with Daily Assignments<\/li>\n<li>Straighten Up and Clean<\/li>\n<li>Identify Job Potential<\/li>\n<li>Daily Connect in the Recovery<\/li>\n<li>Touch \u2018n Go<\/li>\n<li>Breathalyzer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Setting the Stage<br \/>\nPre-Retreat Example Recovery Path Agenda<\/h3>\n<p>&#8211;&gt; <strong>Inspirational eMod Books, eMod Videos, Movies and more<\/strong>, are often assigned to set the mood and support recovery principles and lessons.
