{"id":4782,"date":"2016-06-27T12:49:33","date_gmt":"2016-06-27T19:49:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pocketwisdominsights.com\/pwicolab\/?p=4782"},"modified":"2019-03-17T16:39:16","modified_gmt":"2019-03-17T23:39:16","slug":"any-problem-one-solution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pocketwisdominsights.com\/pwicolab\/co-lab\/pwi-co-lab-staff\/any-problem-one-solution\/","title":{"rendered":"Any Problem, One Solution"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Opening Insights:<\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Any Problem&#8230;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 36px;\">One Solution <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sometimes in life&nbsp;it\u2019s hard to see the&nbsp;<em>silver lining<\/em>. &nbsp;As people we experience a variety of problems, stresses and challenges as part of our life experience.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes we find ourselves living in a world in which we just don&#8217;t seem to fit. &nbsp;Sometimes we may feel like a&nbsp;<em>round peg<\/em>&nbsp;trying to fit into the (structured)&nbsp;<em>square hole<\/em>&nbsp;of life. &nbsp;Sometimes we may feel like a&nbsp;<em>square peg<\/em>&nbsp;struggling to join with the (fluid)&nbsp;<em>round hole<\/em>&nbsp;of life. &nbsp;Sometimes we may feel like a&nbsp;<em>triangular peg<\/em>&nbsp;searching&nbsp;to find our place, often with no holes in sight.<\/p>\n<p>We have been trained to believe \u201c<em>you aren&#8217;t going to fit in unless you re-shape your edges<\/em>.&#8221; &nbsp;However, this is not true.<\/p>\n<p>The challenges life brings us can be divided into three main categories:&nbsp;<em>Spiritual Problems, Thinking Problems<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Behavioral Problems.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>Spiritual Problems<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When it comes to spirituality, we may experience a variety of stresses or challenges. &nbsp;<em>Spiritual Problems<\/em> relate to the challenge of finding balance in our life.&nbsp; Life is all about change and living is all about staying in balance. &nbsp;Life is an ongoing process of being in balance, being pulled out-of-balance, and finding a new level of balance. &nbsp;This life process is all about discovering who and what we are as a human being.<\/p>\n<p>We discover who and what we are through three levels of awareness: what we <strong>know<\/strong>, what we <strong>understand<\/strong>, and what we <strong>believe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There are times when we just <strong>KNOW <\/strong>that certain things are true. We don\u2019t have to explain, prove, or defend these things.&nbsp; When this happens, we are experiencing our intuition, creativity, spontaneity, and discovery.<\/li>\n<li>There are times we have to <strong>UNDERSTAND<\/strong> things before they become true for us. &nbsp;When this happens, we are experiencing our use of logic and reasoning.<\/li>\n<li>There are times when we <strong>BELIEVE<\/strong> that certain things are true. &nbsp;When this happens, we are experiencing the decisions we have made about ourselves and others based on past events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><u>Thinking Problems<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When it comes to thinking, we may experience a variety of stresses or challenges. &nbsp;<em>Thinking Problems<\/em> relate to the challenge of constructive assessment and discernment.<\/p>\n<p>Fear is a powerful force.&nbsp; When we live in fear, \u201chow we feel\u201d becomes the driving force in our reasoning process. &nbsp;Our feelings are in control of our ability to make decisions, take action, and hear feedback.<\/p>\n<p>We resort to automatic emotions and behaviors that cover up the fear.&nbsp; These automatic emotions and behaviors go like this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We feel <strong>hurt<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>We manage our hurt by <strong>blaming<\/strong> Since blame seldom makes us feel better, we deduce that if it is not the other person\u2019s fault, it must be our fault.<\/li>\n<li>We then switch to <strong>guilt<\/strong> by blaming ourselves.<\/li>\n<li>We have learned to cover up our guilt by getting <strong>angry<\/strong>. &nbsp;Anger comes in 3 forms:\n<ul>\n<li>Anger at Others (Hostility)<\/li>\n<li>Anger at Ourselves (Depression)<\/li>\n<li>Unexpressed Anger (Resentment)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If feeling guilty and getting angry does not make the hurt go away, we come to the conclusion that, \u201c<em>It is not what I have done that is wrong, but I as a person am wrong<\/em>.\u201d<br \/>\nThis is <strong>shame<\/strong>.&nbsp; Shame is a deep belief that \u201cI am damaged.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>We have learned to cover up shame with <strong>apathy<\/strong>. &nbsp;Apathy is numbness, a feeling of not caring.<br \/>\nIt results in repressed rage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><u>Behavioral Problems<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When it comes to behavior, we may experience a variety of stresses or challenges. &nbsp;<em>Behavioral Problems<\/em> relate to the challenge of taking charge of our life.<\/p>\n<p>When we are in control, we fear losing control of others.&nbsp; When we are not in control we are obsessed with getting into control of others.<\/p>\n<p>We have learned to live in a <em>cycle of control<\/em> made up of the following emotional triggers and their corresponding defensive reactions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We often feel like there are no real choices in our life, and everything is a <strong>\u201chave to.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>We often feel we have to<strong> manage <\/strong>other people\u2019s outcomes and do the impossible.<\/li>\n<li>We often feel <strong>uncertain <\/strong>about the future and lack trust in ourselves.<\/li>\n<li>We often feel we are being made <strong>responsible<\/strong> for things over which we have no control.<\/li>\n<li>We often feel that others are <strong>angry <\/strong>at us, or we experience our own anger.<\/li>\n<li>We often feel <strong>rejected<\/strong> by others and are focused on how to reject others first.<\/li>\n<li>We often feel that others have too many <strong>expectations<\/strong> of us.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We often feel we are either being <strong>controlled<\/strong> by others or trying to escape the control of others.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>How we solve the problem and fill the need?<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Each environment brings with it a different shape (challenge)&nbsp;and flow of life: circle, square and triangle.<\/p>\n<p>The question is how do we learn to ebb and flow into and out of these different environments\u2026 without compromising who we are? &nbsp;How do we keep our shape? &nbsp;How do we adapt to being in the world, but not of the world?<\/p>\n<p>When problems, stresses and challenges arise in a shape that we are unfamiliar with or perceive&nbsp;we are unable to solve, how do we solve the problem and fill the need?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Regardless of the shape of your problem,<br \/>\nwe have<br \/>\nONE SOLUTION.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Possibilities for Consideration<\/h2>\n<h3>Take a moment and examine\u2026<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>As you reviewed the material above, what stood out to you?<\/li>\n<li>What is the potential impact, economically and\/or socially?<\/li>\n<li>What action is needed to stop or support this idea?<\/li>\n<li>You may want to consider whether you:\n<ul>\n<li>want to be <em>aware<\/em> of,<\/li>\n<li>should become <em>supportive<\/em> of,<\/li>\n<li>would want to be <em>active<\/em> in this topic?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Add Your Insight<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>I have been impressed with the urgency of doing.
