Opening Insights
There comes a point in all our lives when we stand face to face with the reality/necessity that we must either change or die. You may be alarmed to know that according to research done by Johns Hopkins University, 9 out of 10 people will not change even if their lives depend on it.* So many of us want to change, but we often find ourselves quickly reverting back to our old ways.

Psychology tells us that in order to make a change we need to change our beliefs. Therapy attempts to help people change their beliefs and shift their belief structure. This approach assumes that there is something wrong with our beliefs and they need to be changed. For many of us this is a true statement, because our beliefs are formed from the age of 0 to 7. As a result, 99.9% of our beliefs were not conscious choices. Rather, they were formed as a result of influences from our environments and our need to adapt and survive within them. However, the approach to change by simply changing one’s beliefs is fundamentally flawed.

The undeniable truth of honesty, selflessness, understanding, purity of intention, love, trust, innocence and curiosity are seen in the eyes of every newborn babe. When we are able to choose, connect, live and experience life through our values, then change is possible.
The path to and back to values is one of letting go and walking forward. It is a process of individual and collective unity, commitment and growth. It is one of Pocket Wisdom Insights…
