Father Santo Ojok, the Parish Priest of Queen Assumed into Heaven Parish of Awach, serves as the Shepherd for the Uganda Co-Lab™ - Awach.
On Father’s Day 2021, the Uganda Co-Lab™ held its first lesson for Sister Agnes and Sister Dolly of the Awach Parish. This was co-facilitated by Dr. Richard Jorgensen and Father Santo. Following this discussion, Father Santo lent his observations and contributions to this Co-Lab™ experience.
Father Santo previously introduced the need for male elders in families and the community to serve as grandpa role models.
Dr. Jorgensen assured Father Santo that this grandpa principle and structure is a key element of successful collaboration groups and infused into the architecture of the Co-Lab™ Research Institute and related Co-Labs™.
Within the Co-Lab™ architecture we define the grandpa elements as those of:
- Acceptance
- Understanding
- ForgivenessThis is an important functionality in social development. If the younger generation is accepted by the elders, then the youth do not have to prove and defend themselves. They are more open to receive teaching and more willing to apply new insight (AdI™).
Elder male role models are just one of the many dimensions of the Co-Lab™, which provides the structure for community development and generational inclusion. This is not to diminish the need for elder female role models (grandmas), it is only to recognize the importance of the celebration of Father’s Day.
By recognizing the need and value of legacy, and by providing the principle based structure, we create the opportunity for restoration of multi-generational unity.
The Co-Lab Shepherd (Fr. Santo) followed up the transaction with a published letter from the Pope on the importance of fatherhood.
At the end of the Father’s Day Facilitation of lesson one, Dr. Jorgensen reiterated his desire and role as an available grandpa. With great joy and enthusiasm he stated, “I have 2 openings in my grandpa program.”
He offered the openings to the sisters, upon which Sister Dolly immediately accepted.
She closed the meeting with a resounding, “Bye for now… Grandpa.” (click to read Dolly's letter to "Dr. Richard")
Unbeknownst to Dolly, she was about to begin a journey that others have walked before her. The following is a book written by an earlier granddaughter-grandpa relationship with Dr Jorgensen.
This is a beautiful example of the built-in program, in the Co-Lab™, as illustrated in the book, Pocket Wisdom for Life, where a young woman finds a grandpa and is guided in maturity and life principles.
