Tuesday's 1 Minute Meeting

SOBRIETY IS A JOURNEY …NOT A DESTINATION
"Whatever our ideal turns out to be,
we must be willing to grow toward it.
We must be willing to make amends
where we have done harm,
provided that we do not bring about
still more harm in so doing."
- ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS,
HOW IT WORKS, pg. 69
POCKET WISDOM INSIGHTS for RECOVERY
Putting The Four Absolutes Into Our Amends….
Pocket Wisdom Insights for Recovery teaches us that just as our individual identity is based on WHO WE ARE and WHO WE ARE NOT (ego), the same principle applies to our personal inventory.
Pocket Wisdom Insights for Recovery teaches us to take an honest inventory of our actions on both a physical and emotional level. We need to consider both aspects: what WE HAVE DONE that was wrong and what WE “HAVE NOT DONE” (that we should have done).
Before We Can Make Amends….
We have learned that three principles must be engaged before we communicate our amends.
We must ask ourselves the following questions:
- Is it TRUE – Is it true or only half true (lies)?
- Is it KIND – Is the purpose to empower or hurt others?
- Is it NECESSARY – What is the benefit and to whom?
Remember…
It is far easier to think before you speak,
than to try to
UN-SAY what you have said
May today's reflection aid you on your journey
"Your vision will become clear
only when you can look into your own heart.
Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
-Carl Jung
