‘Creating Organizational Cultures Responsive to Change’ to the already existing business academy curriculum for a select class of 37 sophomores (60% “at risk”). This Personal Learning Technology™ software-courseware and facilitation offered these students and teachers an opportunity to participate, integrate and apply life skills and principles both in and out of the classroom environment. These students continued with the Personal Learning Technology™ software-courseware from their sophomore year through to graduation as part of the Business Academy curriculum. Dr. Howard Gardner of Harvard University developed the multiple intelligences theory (1993). The theory states that each person contains 9 different intelligences, or ways in which we learn best.

Result: An advanced technology application that supports scalable and measurable delivery of the 9 Multiple Intelligences for teaching, training and learning: teaching to the learners’ intellectual strength and strengthening their intellectual weaknesses.

  • Applied the research of the Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardner at Harvard, EMDR by Francine Shapiro, and Relational Models by Princeton’s Phil Johnson-Laird and UCLA’s Alan Page Fiske
  • AwareComm® embedded the theories into its learning applications developing Personal Learning Technology (PLT)
  • PLT™ speaks directly to the brain through its natural learning and functioning processes

NOTE: Subsequent projects tested and proved PLT’s effectiveness. Included in these projects was a HUD funded grant study which tested and validated the results with an improvement factor greater than 1 standard deviation that continued, indicating long-term impact with a ‘T’ factor of 95.

As a graduate of the University of Washington with a major in finance and a minor in industrial psychology, Richard successfully determined, “Although I like money, I wasn’t crazy about money.”

Working as a senior staff member to the VP of Finance at a top aircraft manufacturer dealing with complex assignments raised Richard’s awareness to a critical ethics challenge: the statistics being used within the corporate and academic worlds were compromised.

Result: To overcome the challenge, he foresaw the need to explore responsible ways to ensure ethical analytics and data gathering and management.
